About the position

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking division, you will play a crucial role in an agile team focused on enhancing and delivering market-leading technology products. Your responsibilities will include developing secure, high-quality production code, troubleshooting technical issues, and leading evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams. You will also contribute to a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion while driving the adoption of new technologies within the software engineering community.

Responsibilities

  • Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Develop secure high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical credentials.
  • Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and use of new technologies.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience in designing and implementing Android applications using Kotlin.
  • Advanced proficiency in Java, MVVM, Dagger, RxJava, Kotlin, JUnit, Mockito, Git.
  • Proficiency in RxJava, LiveData, and Restful API integration.
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Proficient in architectural patterns such as MVP and MVVM.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, AI, machine learning, mobile).
  • In-depth knowledge of Android Jetpack and Kotlin Coroutines.
  • Practical cloud-native experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of GIT and GIT workflow.
  • Ability to guide and coach team members.
