About the position

As a Lead Engineer in Apple Data Governance, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing solutions that ensure the integrity, privacy, and security of Apple's extensive data assets. This position requires a deep technical expertise in data management, a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to advance key data governance initiatives. You will be instrumental in building robust data governance frameworks, policies, and standards across the organization, ensuring that governance initiatives align with business needs and regulatory obligations. Your strategic contribution will involve providing subject matter expertise in the development and execution of Apple's data governance strategy. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure that governance initiatives are effectively integrated into business operations, with a strong focus on building data catalogs, authorization services, privacy infrastructure, and compliance reporting solutions. Additionally, you will work closely with the User Privacy, Legal, and Compliance teams to develop and refine data governance policies and standards, promoting data quality, security, and accessibility throughout its lifecycle. In this role, you will also be responsible for risk mitigation and compliance, staying informed on evolving regulatory requirements such as GDPR and CCPA, and assisting in designing solutions that ensure compliance while minimizing data governance risks. You will champion data quality and metadata management initiatives, creating frameworks to enhance data accuracy, reliability, and governance processes. As a primary liaison between business units, legal, security, and privacy teams, you will embed data governance principles into everyday operational practices and drive collaboration on governance-related projects. Furthermore, you will serve as a technical expert and thought leader within the data governance space, mentoring engineers and influencing the architecture and direction of data governance solutions at Apple. Your contributions will be vital in shaping the future of data governance at Apple, ensuring that the company maintains its commitment to data integrity and security.

Responsibilities
