About the position

As an Application Owner - Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Card Authorizations Team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing, building, and delivering trusted technology products. This position involves conducting critical technology solutions across various business functions to support the firm's objectives, ensuring the applications are secure, stable, and scalable.

Responsibilities

  • Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Develop secure high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
  • Ensure IT risk and resiliency reviews of applications are completed on time and findings are addressed within SLAs.
  • Manage applications according to firm-wide inventory systems and access management tools.
  • Drive the Authorization Team's response to technology risk initiatives in a timely manner.
  • Ensure application's information is accurately inventoried and documented in firm-wide tools.
  • Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote new technologies.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5 years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, including Java.
  • Strong experience with architecture and design systems.
  • Ability to partner with Information Security Managers to assess application risks and document findings.
  • Experience engaging with supporting technology teams to improve processes and ensure compliance.
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline.

  • Experience with Tandem HPE Nonstop Mainframe
