About the position

As a Lead Software Engineer for the Enterprise Artificial Intelligence and Automation team within the Enterprise Data & Analytics (ED&A) organization, you will play a pivotal role in transforming business and technology capabilities. This position involves guiding a diverse team of technologists, driving best practices, and influencing the development of strategic technology products that leverage artificial intelligence and automation. You will be responsible for mentoring junior engineers, ensuring technical excellence, and collaborating closely with product and technology leadership to deliver high-quality applications.

Responsibilities

  • Set technical direction and influence multiple teams to improve engineering practices.
  • Align work with business and engineering priorities for meaningful impact.
  • Build and maintain partnerships to ensure optimal resource utilization.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to technical resources.
  • Apply industry trends to formulate solutions for assigned efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with Travelers standards, processes, and protocols.
  • Provide performance feedback and coaching to staff.
  • Seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Five years of programming/development experience.
  • One year of experience in technical leadership.
  • Seven years of programming/development experience preferred.
  • Experience with Python and/or Javascript.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and AWS services preferred.
