About the position

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Community and Consumer Banking sector, you will play a crucial role in an agile team focused on enhancing, building, and delivering secure and scalable technology products. This position requires a core technical contributor who can conduct critical technology solutions across various business functions to support the firm's objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Develop secure high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs and technical credentials.
  • Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.
  • Contribute to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5 years applied experience.
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, architectural concepts, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Advanced in one or more programming languages such as Java or Python.
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, server-less infrastructure).
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
  • Practical cloud native experience.
