About the position
As a Lead Software Engineer at Capital One, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing new capabilities for the Augmented Messaging platform. This role focuses on creating solutions that enhance omni-channel communication and reach diverse customer segments. You will lead a team of developers, work on complex technology projects, and leverage your expertise in cloud computing and open-source technologies to drive transformation within the company.
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers.
- Design, develop, and implement new capabilities for the omni-channel communication engine.
- Ensure the right customers are reached with the right channel at the right time.
- Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions.
- Stay updated on tech trends and mentor other members of the engineering community.
- Participate in internal and external technology communities.
- Occasionally code or evaluate code.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience.
- At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
Nice-to-haves
- Master's Degree in a relevant field.
- 7+ years of experience in Java, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js.
- 2+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service.
- 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks.
- 1+ years of people management experience.
- 2+ years of experience in Agile practices.
