About the position

The Lead Software Engineer for Data Applications will play a crucial role in the Business Intelligence and Data Management department of the IMS Segment. This position focuses on creating innovative applications for data collection and visualization, requiring extensive experience in software infrastructure, data engineering, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining software components that enhance data processing and analysis capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain software components for data collection, processing, and analysis.
• Analyze workflows to identify gaps in data and propose solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers from other teams to integrate data collection into existing and new AI infrastructure.
• Develop tools and systems to summarize, visualize, and query data.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable and reliable data processing pipelines.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving engineering best practices.
• Implement and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployment and testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of related experience, or 13 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
• 5 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• 2 years of experience with software design and architecture.
• 3 years of experience in Data Integration using tools such as Palantir.
• 1 year experience with designing and developing data pipelines in PySpark, Spark SQL, or Code Build.
• Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• Active DoD Clearance
• Strong understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Warehouse (DW) development methodologies.
• Experience with the Snowflake Cloud Data Platform, including data architecture, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in Python, Pandas, Databricks, JavaScript, or other scripting languages for data processing and automation.
• Experience with other ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory (ADF), SSIS, Informatica, or Talend.
• Familiarity with connecting and extracting data from various ERP applications, including Oracle EBS, SAP ECC/S4, Deltek Costpoint.
