About the position

FreeWheel, a Comcast company, is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to join their growing data teams. This role focuses on building and evolving the next generation of Audience & Identity data platforms that handle data at scale. The Lead Data Engineer will work with advanced technologies to unlock the business value of data, collaborating with project stakeholders and managing data processing pipelines using cutting-edge AWS services and other tools.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements.
• Conducts analysis to determine integration needs.
• Designs and builds data processing pipelines using AWS services and other software.
• Acquires new data sources to develop a rich dataset characterizing audiences.
• Manages, improves, and builds the next generation of data tools and frameworks.
• Works with Architects to contribute to the broader technical vision.
• Improves the codebase and participates in agile ceremonies.
• Presents and defends architectural and technical choices to internal audiences.
• Oversees documentation of all development activities.
• Provides guidance and support to other Engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a similar field.
• Extensive Golang experience is required.
• 5+ years of hands-on work in software development.
• 3+ years of experience with data applications and tools (Snowflake, Databricks, Spark, etc.).
• 3+ years of experience in designing and building ETL pipelines to process data at scale.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services (S3, EMR, Glue, etc.).
• 3+ years of experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, AWS CodeBuild, etc.).
• Strong skills in SQL and experience with major database platforms.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.

Nice-to-haves

• AWS certification is a plus.
• Preference for past Freewheel MRM experience.
