The Data Platform team within the ASE organization powers analytics, experimentation, and ML feature engineering to enhance Siri, Search, and other machine learning features across Apple devices. The mission of the Data Platform organization is to provide engineers and data scientists with an innovative, reliable, secure, and user-friendly infrastructure for ingesting, storing, processing, and interacting with data. This ultimately supports teams that build data-intensive applications in achieving their goals. As a Lead Software Engineer focusing on Infrastructure Security, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our data platform by developing frameworks and architectures that utilize cutting-edge technology across the technical stack. Your leadership will guide product and infrastructure teams to ensure that user data security is a fundamental aspect of every feature we deliver. If you are passionate about building a security-first data platform and tackling data challenges at scale, we invite you to join us on this journey. In this role, you will be responsible for defining and driving the data security roadmap for our data platform, ensuring the best data security controls and governance are implemented across our stack at Apple scale. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams of innovative software engineers, product managers, and engineering managers to continuously enhance our security posture. We embrace the use of open-source technologies, including Kubernetes, Ranger for secured compute platforms, and Spark, Flink, Trino, and Iceberg for data processing. Your responsibilities will include defining and driving the technical vision, roadmap, and strategy for data security, participating in product design reviews to ensure security is integrated into the design, and collaborating with stakeholders across Apple to ensure the adoption of our data platform is compliant with security standards. You will also liaise with the Corporate Information Security group for reviews, risk assessments, vulnerability treatments, and security patches. Additionally, you will lead and mentor new hires or junior engineers, providing guidance and establishing processes to ensure engineering excellence and operational sustainability with security compliance. Fostering a healthy, inclusive, collaborative, and technology-driven culture will also be a key aspect of your role.
