About the position

As a Lead Software Engineer in DevOps at Capital One, you will play a pivotal role in driving technological transformation within the Enterprise Platforms Technology (EPTech) team. This position involves leading diverse technology projects and a team of developers to create cloud-based solutions that meet regulatory needs while fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. You will be responsible for mentoring team members, staying updated on tech trends, and delivering impactful solutions that empower millions of Americans financially.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers.
• Create solutions that help meet regulatory needs for the company.
• Share passion for technology trends and mentor other engineering community members.
• Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions.
• Utilize programming languages and tools such as Java, Python, SQL, Ruby, Go, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform, and AWS.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• At least 4 years of experience in DevOps Engineering (Internship experience does not apply).
• At least 3 years of experience in Cloud Native technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• At least 4 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience.

Nice-to-haves

• 7+ years of DevOps Engineering experience.
• 4+ years experience with coding and scripting (Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Golang, Bash).
• 4+ years experience using build and deployment tools (e.g., Jenkins, Docker).
• 2+ years experience with deploying cloud native and serverless solutions.
• 2+ years experience working within Agile Development Practices.
• 2+ years experience in mentoring and guiding colleagues in design and implementation.
• 1+ years experience with networking (VPC, Subnets) and security (Firewall, IAM) in the Cloud.
