About the position

The Lead Software Engineer - Google Cloud Developer is responsible for leading a team in the design and development of cloud-based solutions. This role emphasizes collaboration, problem-solving, and maintaining high-quality code and data management within the platform. The engineer will guide junior team members and ensure that applications perform efficiently and effectively while addressing diverse and complex problems.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the design and development of solutions to various problems either independently or in a team environment.
  • Guides the creation of technical documents such as a design specification document.
  • Ensures applications are performing at high capacity, responsiveness, and quality.
  • Finds solutions to reduce issues and defects.
  • Maintains that the platform's code and data are organized, automated, and of high quality.
  • Guides junior team personnel by recommending software design and development opportunities/best practices.
  • Contributes to the development of functional objectives and principles to achieve goals in innovative ways.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience and progressive experience where team leadership was demonstrated.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with one or more cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, or AWS).
  • Proficiency in cloud development technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, serverless architectures).
  • Experience in building and managing scalable cloud-based data pipelines for large datasets.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, or other data science-focused languages.
  • Experience with advanced analytics tools (e.g., Pandas, Scikit-learn) and data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Beam, Hadoop).
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and deploying models in the cloud.
  • Familiarity with healthcare-related compliance requirements (HIPAA, HITRUST).
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices for handling sensitive data.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools for automated cloud deployment (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in cloud infrastructure and data processing.
  • Experience with API management and microservices architecture in a cloud environment.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services like BigQuery, Vertex AI, or Dataflow is a strong plus.
