About the position

As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking in Payments space, you will be an integral part of an agile team focused on enhancing, building, and delivering trusted market-leading technology products. This role requires deep technical expertise and problem-solving skills to tackle diverse challenges across multiple technologies and applications, driving significant business impact through your contributions.

Responsibilities

  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.
  • Provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
  • Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus.
  • Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies.
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture.
  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Proficiency in Java/J2EE and REST APIs, Web Services and experience in building event-driven Micro Services and Kafka streaming.
  • Experience in Spring Framework and AWS Services in public cloud infrastructure (S3, Terraform, PostgreSQL DB, Dynamo DB).
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
  • Working proficiency in developmental toolsets like GIT/BitBucket, JIRA, Maven.
