About the position

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Public Cloud Enablement & Adoption, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives. This role requires a blend of creativity and technical expertise to execute innovative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting. You will need to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems effectively. In this position, you will develop secure high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others. You will also identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve the overall operational stability of software applications and systems. Leading evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams will be a key responsibility, driving outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture. Additionally, you will lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies, contributing to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Responsibilities

  • Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Develop secure high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture.
  • Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on system design concepts and 5 years applied experience.
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Hands-on experience in Python, Terraform, and Public cloud (Azure).
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on experience with a public cloud provider (Azure, AWS).
  • Understanding of public cloud architecture patterns for identity, networking, compute, and management.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as code using Terraform/Bicep/ARM on Azure.
  • Python Programming experience.
