About the position

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Cloud Foundational Services, you will play a crucial role in an agile team focused on enhancing and delivering secure, stable, and scalable technology products. Your responsibilities will include developing cloud-native networking solutions that facilitate cloud adoption while ensuring compliance with controls. You will collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and drive the implementation of innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Develop secure high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
  • Lead the development of cloud networking offerings, ensuring security, scalability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with other cloud platform engineering teams to deliver high-quality applications on the cloud.
  • Stay updated with advancements in cloud technologies and recommend new tools/technologies for adoption.
  • Identify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
  • Lead evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical credentials.
  • Promote a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect within the team.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Advanced proficiency in Bash, GIT, Python.
  • Intermediate experience with Go and Kubernetes.
  • Beginner or intermediate experience with Terraform and public clouds (AWS, Azure, Google).
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications in AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
  • Working knowledge of IP networking, Routing, and DNS.
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within cloud, AI, machine learning, or mobile.
