About the position

The Lead Automation Engineer will co-lead a global engineering team focused on building new automation solutions and supporting existing capabilities. This role emphasizes collaboration with product management, technical architecture, and business stakeholders to deliver automation products that align with the company's long-term strategy. The position requires a blend of technical expertise in automation engineering and strong interpersonal skills to mentor and guide teams in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

Responsibilities

  • Translate business problems into technical solutions as the primary software engineer for the automation team.
  • Collaborate with the product manager to identify new automation opportunities across the business.
  • Lead pilots and work with other technology owners to integrate automation tools with new systems.
  • Coach the engineering team to deliver best-in-class solutions aligned with the governance framework.
  • Triage production support issues and reduce technical debt to increase engineering capacity.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in automation engineering, preferably with PEGA or similar workflow automation software and Robotic Process Automation tools (e.g., Automation Anywhere, Power Automate).
  • Experience with SAP is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in Agile methodologies and best practices, including Scrum and Kanban.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to effectively plan, execute, monitor, and control engineering delivery.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a combination of relevant education, training, and experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in a complex organization with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, and automated testing.
