About the position

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a self-starting, team-oriented Senior DevOps Software Engineer to join our dynamic development team focused on supporting space domain mission applications. The selected candidate will work with a classified large-scale enterprise application that utilizes web technologies, distributed computation and storage frameworks, and sophisticated domain analytics, all hosted on virtualized and cloud-computing platforms. This role requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also engaging collaboratively with a team to achieve overall project objectives. In this position, the Software Engineer will participate in implementing DevSecOps methodologies within an Agile software development environment. This includes collaborating and leading with other engineers to plan, design, and develop a cohesive DevSecOps environment that features integrated CI/CD pipelines. The engineer will support the entire Software Development Lifecycle, with a strong emphasis on build and release management through automation. Continuous analysis of the DevSecOps environment for technical and process improvements is essential, focusing on integrating security measures, expediting security and software updates, enhancing automation, and reducing glitches and software failures. Additionally, the engineer will maintain the deployed system, deploy updates and fixes, investigate and resolve technical and network issues, and provide technical support to end-users as needed. Promoting DevSecOps as a team culture is also a key aspect of this role. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding technical talent and a strong desire to continuously learn and apply new skills and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in implementing DevSecOps methodologies in an Agile software development environment.
  • Collaborate and lead with other engineers to plan, design, and develop the DevSecOps environment, including CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support the entire Software Development Lifecycle with a focus on build and release management via automation.
  • Continuously analyze the DevSecOps environment for technical and process improvements.
  • Maintain the deployed system, deploy updates and fixes, and resolve technical and network issues.
  • Provide technical support to end-users as needed.
  • Promote DevSecOps as a team culture.

Requirements

  • Active TS SCI with consent to CI Poly Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Security+ Certified.
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, and/or Ansible.
  • Experience with Kubernetes.
  • Mid/Senior level experience with Linux administration, preferably RHEL/CentOS 7 and 8.
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or GovCloud.
