About the position

The Lead Software Engineer at Symplast is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of software solutions in a fast-paced environment. This position requires excellent project management skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to client satisfaction. The successful candidate will manage resource allocation, coordinate project timelines, and ensure that the software engineering, configuration management, and quality assurance teams work effectively together to meet project goals.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule work for development teams, including stakeholder communication and priority enforcement.
• Manage resource allocation across projects and teams, including engineering and quality assurance.
• Define project tasks and resource requirements for successful delivery.
• Plan and schedule project timelines to ensure timely completion.
• Collaborate with product managers and lead engineers to remove roadblocks and bottlenecks.
• Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve desired outputs.
• Monitor and report on the progress of projects and deliverables to all stakeholders.
• Facilitate project review meetings to discuss open issues and status updates.
• Drive the post-implementation project review process, including evaluations and assessments of results.
• Work with the Director of Engineering for capacity planning and feasibility analysis of new development projects.
• Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables.

Requirements

• 5+ years of IT resource/project management experience within a software development environment.
• Experience driving and being accountable for successful project delivery within a matrix organization.
