About the position

The Lead Software QA/Test Analyst is responsible for developing, modifying, and executing software test plans and scenarios to ensure that software and technical products meet quality standards. This role involves leading a team of testers, analyzing complex requirements, and managing defect management processes while communicating project statuses to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute software tests to identify software problems and their root causes.
  • Lead a team of testers in support of multiple projects and corporate initiatives.
  • Produce test plans and test cases to determine the presence and scope of potential code defects.
  • Monitor accurate and thorough test cases, scripts, and data with pre-determined results within specified scheduled dates.
  • Perform test execution of all assigned test cases.
  • Research and provide technical support on operational/test system defects and propose solutions.
  • Lead and manage project defect management meetings and triage issues/defects found during test execution.
  • Act as a liaison with internal and external customers to research, analyze, and propose solutions to complex technical, operational, and test scenarios.
  • Communicate project and testing status to management.
  • Document issues and risks associated with the testing effort to project stakeholders and leadership.
  • Guide and mentor team of testers in support of projects and day-to-day testing efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or Computer Science, or 4 additional years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 8 years of experience in software design, development, testing, and software requirement management.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Knowledge of software test requirements and protocols.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
  • Experience with hardware/software/database technologies and network systems.
  • Experience with databases and query languages.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products or equivalent.
  • Attention to detail.
