About the position

The Lead Solutions Architect for Digital Workspaces is a pivotal role responsible for designing innovative solution architectures across three key domains: "Communication & Collaboration", "Productivity & Automation", and "Business Enablement & Adoption." This position requires an experienced visionary who can bridge business needs with technology to deliver digital workspace solutions that will enable business functions to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of life. The role offers the opportunity to shape the future of work by creating agile, user-centric digital environments, with a strategic emphasis on integrating and optimizing Microsoft 365 services and other applications within the enterprise architecture, while leveraging and incorporating AI to enhance business processes and decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in architecting and implementing digital workspace strategies that enhance collaboration, drive productivity, and enable business growth. Familiarity with enterprise and solution architecture principles based on Microsoft platforms is essential. The Lead Solutions Architect will collaborate with the Office of Information Technology (OIT) team members and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and identify technology and data solutions that align with these needs. This role will also provide leadership on architecture standards and processes, ensuring that digital workspace solutions adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements. In addition, the Lead Solutions Architect will coordinate the design and implementation of new technology and business projects, maintain an expert-level understanding of the M365 technology stack, and provide technical support for a wide variety of technologies. The role includes evaluating new and emerging technologies, facilitating workshops and training sessions for end-users, and managing a team of resources focused on Communication & Collaboration and Productivity & Automation. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and enabling Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity across the portfolio of Digital Workspace Solutions (DWS) applications and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Office of Information Technology (OIT) team members and Teams across Baylor to participate in the enterprise architecture technical strategy.
  • Provide leadership and expertise on collaboration tools such as Microsoft 365, Teams, Teams Voice, OneDrive, SharePoint Online, Power Apps, and other applications.
  • Coordinate the design and implementation of new technology and business projects, processes, and architectures.
  • Maintain an expert-level understanding of the M365 technology stack, including Exchange Online, Microsoft Security Suite, and Microsoft Entra/Azure AD.
  • Provide technical support for a wide variety of technologies, including Cryptography solutions and SSO integration technologies.
  • Evaluate new and emerging technologies and manage their integration into the company's existing technology environment.
  • Engage stakeholders to facilitate workshops and training sessions for end-users to ensure effective adoption of new technologies.
  • Enforce policies and compliance guidelines to ensure digital workspace solutions adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in evaluating and selecting vendors for new solutions.
  • Create and update comprehensive documentation for architecture designs, implementation plans, and best practices.
  • Plan and enable Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity across the portfolio of DWS applications and solutions.
  • Manage a team of resources with backgrounds in Communication & Collaboration and Productivity & Automation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or four years of relevant experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Six years of relevant experience in a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science is preferred.
  • Six years of industry and system experience with working knowledge of current Windows Server technology.
  • Certifications related to enterprise architecture, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert and TOGAF Certified, are desirable.
  • Strong foundation in IT infrastructure architecture/design/engineering and related Microsoft certifications.
