About the position
The Lead Sonographer at Avera McKennan is responsible for managing ultrasound imaging services, ensuring high-quality patient care and operational efficiency within the department. This role requires extensive experience in ultrasound procedures, certification in OB/GYN and abdominal modalities, and a commitment to collaborative healthcare delivery. The position also involves performing ultrasonic diagnostic procedures for patients as ordered.
Responsibilities
- Manage ultrasound imaging services and ensure operational efficiency.
- Perform ultrasonic diagnostic procedures for patients as ordered.
- Facilitate imaging services and develop goals and objectives for the Ultrasound area.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care.
- Ensure compliance with certification and licensure requirements.
Requirements
- Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
- Six months to one year of related experience and/or training.
- ARDMS registration in OB/GYN and Abdominal modalities within six months of hire date is required.
- One to two years of additional ultrasound experience/training preferred.
