About the position

The Lead Sourcing Manager at AMD is responsible for strategic sourcing and commodity planning for Computer Hardware and IT Software. This role requires a self-starter who can identify sourcing opportunities and drive initiatives with minimal management involvement. The position emphasizes outstanding negotiation and communication skills, as well as the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, including executives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Compute Hardware, IT Software and related Services commodities as the global lead for the company.
  • Develop a global procurement strategy and implement a supplier development program focused on cost, quality, and service.
  • Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships.
  • Make recommendations regarding sourcing strategies, requirements planning, and revenue generation using analytics.
  • Manage cross-functional and cross-site business processes to support operational process execution.
  • Drive supplier performance management processes and continuous improvement programs with suppliers.
  • Lead and participate in cross-organizational projects with limited management involvement.
  • Work with stakeholders up to CIO level to set cost targets and develop sourcing strategies.
  • Negotiate agreements and statements of work for the category, minimizing risk and ensuring supplier accountability.
  • Lead Supplier Performance Management with key suppliers and manage quarterly scorecards.
  • Develop a multiyear commodity strategy reflecting stakeholder requirements and track progress against the plan.
  • Conduct ongoing market research and benchmarking to understand industry trends.
  • Execute Source-to-Pay activities to ensure timely order issuance and invoicing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in strategic sourcing for a global corporation.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Experience with sourcing, negotiating, and contracting for Compute hardware and software.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and evaluate variable factors.
  • Experience with Ariba Sourcing and SAP S/4 preferred.
