About the position

Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity. Responsibilities

  • Driving and developing departmental continuous improvement initiatives and support implementation.
  • Operation of environmental test chambers (Thermal cycling, vacuum, HALT/HASS). Lead process work and review output for quality and adherence to standards and procedures.
  • Assemble tooling and assist with equipment maintenance.
  • Lead daily team meeting facilitation, end-of-shift reporting, and coordinating efforts to minimize production interruptions.
  • Support new-hire training programs within your department and contribute to development and modification of training programs. You develop training plans for your team and are responsible for implementing training programs within your department.
  • Drive safety standards and operations protocol while ensuring team compliance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years relevant high traceability manufacturing experience (Aerospace / Medical, etc.)
  • 3+ years of hands-on work in test lab environment, using basic hand tools
  • 3+ years experience in a fast-paced production environment with Flight Hardware
  • Minimum 3 years of environmental test experience performing at least one of the following: Vibration Testing, Shock Testing, Acoustic Testing, Thermal Testing, Thermal Vacuum Testing.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years prior leadership experience, to include leading teams, projects or people
  • Experience bringing teams and processes from development to production
  • Able to read, interpret and work from engineering documentation and/or drawings
  • Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment
  • Ability to prioritize work in a complex, fast-paced environment
  • Proper use and understanding of DMM, torque wrenches, calipers, and other type of measuring devices.
  • Experience installing instrumentation such as accelerometers, thermocouples etc.
  • Understanding of 5S and lean principles.
