About the position
The Lead Specialist - Application Support at Energy Transfer is responsible for the administration and support of multiple enterprise-level platforms. This role involves working closely with both business and technical teams to provide primary support for various applications, ensuring system problem analysis and issue resolution. The position also focuses on identifying process improvements and enhancing existing processes through automation, contributing positively to the organization.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct technical assistance to key business users and technical support for applications.
- Support and maintain application infrastructure including servers and network topology.
- Assist business teams and vendors with application installations and upgrades.
- Maintain build processes, deployment strategies, and process automation.
- Install and coordinate installation of patches and releases to development, test, and production systems.
- Ensure availability, security, and integrity of assigned systems.
- Administer server access, accounts, audit controls, and reports for Segregation of Duties support.
- Stay updated on current technologies and recommend strategies and tools.
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings, documenting key decisions, risks, and issues.
- Work effectively under minimal supervision, maintaining ownership for all applications and areas of responsibility.
- Provide after-hours support on business-critical projects and tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of relevant experience with application support and process automation.
- Experience supporting applications in multi-tiered environments using Linux, Microsoft OS, Active Directory, SQL, and F5.
- Experience with off-the-shelf applications such as Quorum, Entero, and/or Allegro.
- Ability to identify potential software enhancements and analyze user needs.
- Experience with Continuous Integration tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise.
- Familiarity with build and dependency management tools such as Maven, Gradle, Ant.
- Proficiency in scripting languages including PowerShell, Groovy, Python, Bash, JavaScript.
- Experience with source control systems like Git and SVN.
- Knowledge of Microsoft T-SQL or PL/SQL.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Datadog, Splunk.
- Some coding experience with .Net, Java, Python, or equivalent.
