Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Specialty Software Engineer in Auto Platform Engineering as part of Consumer Technology. In this role, you will lead complex technology initiatives that have a companywide impact. You will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing large-scale technology solutions to meet both tactical and strategic business objectives. This includes evaluating the enterprise technological environment and addressing technical challenges that require a thorough assessment of various factors, including unprecedented technical elements. You will make decisions that help develop standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions, leveraging your understanding of industry best practices and new technologies. Your leadership will be crucial in guiding the technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with key technical experts, senior technology teams, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve organizational goals. You will also be tasked with troubleshooting and analyzing production job failures related to data, network file delivery, and server and application issues. Your ability to provide solutions for recovery will be essential, as will your participation in root cause analysis and preventative actions to avoid recurring incidents. You will engage in the buildout of automation processes aimed at preventing problem recurrence, with the ultimate goal of automating responses to all non-exceptional service conditions. Your technology background in software engineering and systems engineering will be applied to ensure that applications onboarded to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) are available, possess full-stack observability, are integrated with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), and maintain an always-on status. This will involve introducing continuous improvement through code and automation, continuous testing (both performance and functional), and providing operational insights through analytics. You will assess the availability of critical business flows, identify service level objectives and indicators, and conduct destructive and resiliency testing to achieve a 99.995% availability rate for the firm's critical products and services, ultimately enhancing customer experience and satisfaction. Additionally, you will introduce enterprise capabilities, tools, and innovations to improve availability within a multi-cloud ecosystem. This includes evolving observability, monitoring, logging, CI/CD integration, continuous testing, and standardization/automation of key SRE metrics and IT Service Operations processes.
