About the position
Cognizant is seeking an experienced Lead SRE Engineer to join its Digital Engineering team, which focuses on building innovative cloud-based software solutions for a diverse global client base. The role emphasizes collaboration within a geographically distributed team, driving continuous improvement, and challenging the status quo with creative solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in site reliability engineering, cloud technologies, and a passion for enhancing application reliability and performance.
Responsibilities
- Build cutting-edge, cloud-based software that powers modern business.
- Drive continuous improvement and challenge legacy systems with innovative solutions.
- Lead initiatives to improve the reliability and stability of applications and platforms using data-driven analytics.
- Act as the main point of contact during major incidents, quickly identifying and solving issues to avoid financial losses.
- Document and share knowledge within the organization via internal forums and communities.
- Collaborate with team members to establish service level objectives and error budgets with customers.
- Perform API performance testing using tools such as JMeter or Blazemeter.
- Identify root cause analysis for production issues in AWS environments with multiple microservices.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant work experience in site reliability engineering.
- Deep proficiency in reliability, scalability, performance, security, and enterprise system architecture.
- Fluency in JAVA programming.
- Proficiency in observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, and Datadog.
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools like Jenkins, GitLab, and Terraform.
- Experience with container orchestration tools such as ECS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform.
- Excellent communication skills.
