About the position

The Lead Storage Engineer at Lumen is responsible for designing, implementing, and deploying shared system resources, including disks and networking. This role involves performance analysis, troubleshooting, data recovery strategies for critical systems, and data backup measures, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of storage solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement shared system resources like disks and networking.
• Conduct performance analysis and troubleshooting of storage systems.
• Develop data recovery strategies for critical systems.
• Implement data backup measures to ensure data integrity.
• Manage SAN & NAS administration with over 8 years of experience.
• Administer HP3PAR Storage Arrays and NetApp FAS and AFF series.
• Handle storage provisioning, LUN management, and performance management.
• Understand SAN fabric concepts and NAS protocols like CIFS/NFS.
• Automate and script routine tasks using tools like Ansible and Python.
• Engage in vendor management for critical issues and upgrades.
• Perform storage performance analysis and capacity planning.
• Coordinate upgrades with vendors and manage OS updates.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in SAN & NAS administration.
• Experience with HP3PAR Storage Arrays and NetApp FAS and AFF series.
• Strong knowledge of storage provisioning, LUN management, and performance management.
• Hands-on experience with SAN fabric concepts and NAS protocols (CIFS/NFS).
• Experience with automation and scripting (Ansible, Python).
• Knowledge of vendor management and troubleshooting storage issues.
• In-depth knowledge of clustering, high availability, and FabricPool management.

Nice-to-haves

• Good documentation skills.
• Understanding of ITSM/ITIL processes and certification is a plus.
• Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, Google) are preferred.
• NetApp certifications are advantageous.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to resolve problems timely.
