About the position

The Lead Structural Engineer at Honeywell plays a pivotal role in providing technical leadership for structural analyses and design decisions related to a new business jet turbofan engine. This position involves overseeing and guiding the analysis, development, and testing of static structural components, ensuring the integrity of these components and systems. The engineer will be responsible for all aspects of the structural design for an engine module, which includes leading structural analysis teams both locally and globally, as well as coordinating with third-party outsourcing. The role requires effective communication with various stakeholders, including manufacturing personnel, suppliers, customers, chief engineers, and leadership, to ensure that all analyses adhere to established requirements and design criteria. In addition to leading the structural analysis teams, the Lead Structural Engineer will also be responsible for presenting analysis results clearly during design reviews and documenting them in reports to meet program deliverables. The engineer will guide test planning, execution, and validation, and may occasionally perform analyses of key components as needed. Mentoring less-experienced engineers and leading process improvement teams to advance technology and improve engineering processes are also key responsibilities of this role. The position offers openings for leading various engine modules, including the compressor, combustor, and bypass ducts, ensuring clarity and agreement of requirements for traceability to customer and design deliverables, which requires the use of DOORS.
