About the position

AESC is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer to join its Global Industrialization Development group, focusing on supporting U.S. based facilities. This role is crucial for ensuring the structural integrity and safety of manufacturing facilities while adhering to sustainable construction practices. The position offers an opportunity to work on innovative projects in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the advancement of energy sustainability and the production of high-performance batteries for electric vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead structural engineering efforts as the subject matter expert in collaboration with other departments.
  • Perform structural analysis, design, and calculations to ensure buildings and infrastructure withstand environmental factors and operational loads.
  • Develop comprehensive design strategies for structural engineering.
  • Support project planning, budgeting, and supervisory support over the entire design and construction process.
  • Lead a team of structural engineers, engineering contractors, and consultants, providing guidance and technical support.
  • Ensure all designs and construction activities adhere to local and international building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Continuously explore innovative materials and construction techniques to optimize structural performance, sustainability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Implement quality control and assurance processes to guarantee the reliability and safety of all structural elements.
  • Conduct periodic design quality control reviews to assess compliance and address any deficiencies or deviations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in structural engineering or civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in industrial structural engineering design, overseeing Owner's Capital Development projects in battery manufacturing, semi-conductor, pharma/medical industry, or scientific laboratory facilities.
  • Professional Engineer license or equivalent experience required.
  • Extensive clean room experience in terms of ISO Classes.
  • Working knowledge of various codes (IBC, ADA, NFPA, etc.) and CSI specifications coordination.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Sketch Up, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, OneNote, Azure, Revit, CAD, Navisworks, Photoshop, InDesign.
  • Understanding of IATF16949 and VDA6.3 quality standards and ISO14001 environmental standards.

  • Ability to read and decipher technical reports, Code Analysis report, geotechnical, and environmental reports.
  • Excellent time management, effective communication skills, and strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
