About the position

The Lead Student Information Systems Analyst at CSU Monterey Bay plays a crucial role in enhancing and supporting the university's admissions and enrollment systems. This position involves analyzing admissions and enrollment data, providing technical support, and serving as a liaison between various campus departments and IT groups. The analyst will lead initiatives to improve the student experience through effective system management and collaboration with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze admissions and enrollment data to enhance systems and provide technical support.
  • Serve as the primary contact for the Admissions Department regarding the CMS (Student Administration) system.
  • Develop and expand enhancements of various components of the student information systems functionality.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to assigned systems and processes as a subject matter expert.
  • Prepare and maintain system/operational documentation for enrollment-related processes.
  • Develop workflows and control procedures to support system administration.
  • Oversee the development of end-user reports and provide guidance in business process redesign.
  • Collaborate with Information Technology staff on systems infrastructure and programming issues.
  • Establish controls and processes to monitor systems and data integrity.
  • Provide lead work direction to the Information Technology Consultant and Administrative Analyst/Specialists team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, educational technology, communications, or related fields.
  • Working knowledge of automated desktop management tools in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience with common software application packages and reference database systems.
  • Knowledge of operational analysis techniques and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to independently plan, organize, and coordinate work in diverse situations.
  • Experience in investigating and analyzing problems with broad administrative impact.
  • Strong systems background as a user or functional developer.
  • Advanced experience using spreadsheets, database query tools, and word processing software applications.
  • Experience with campus core enterprise systems such as Oracle-PeopleSoft.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in producing or retrofitting content for accessibility using tools like Ally, MS Office, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Familiarity with audio and video transcription/captioning.
