About the position

The Subcontracts Lead at L3Harris is responsible for managing the entire life-cycle of subcontracts, which includes sourcing, negotiation, execution, and closeout. This role involves collaboration across various customer segments, including government and commercial sectors, and requires expertise in different subcontract types to effectively manage risk. The position demands a strong focus on cost, schedule, and technical performance, ensuring that subcontract work aligns with program objectives and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Drive all aspects of major subcontract execution including cost, schedule, technical, and quality management.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in various contract types and government proposals.
  • Negotiate subcontracts and manage subcontractor performance effectively.
  • Review technical Statements of Work (SOWs) to ensure clarity and accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with FAR/DFAR requirements and manage legal documents and supply chain strategies.
  • Analyze diverse issues related to development programs and communicate effectively with leadership.
  • Collaborate with various functions such as Contracts, Program Management, and Engineering to support high-value proposals and subcontracts.
  • Identify process improvements and risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with technical teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with 7 years of experience, or 13 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in Subcontracts management.
  • Experience with MRP systems software for at least 7 years.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (including pivot tables and V-lookup).

Nice-to-haves

  • DoD Clearance is desired but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience as a Cost Account Manager for Subcontracts.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience.
