About the position

The Lead Supervisor, Gas Dispatch is a pivotal role within National Grid's Field Operations Support & Controls team, responsible for overseeing a 24/7 team of supervisors and dispatchers. This position focuses on ensuring compliance with laws and company policies while achieving emergency response targets. The role requires strong analytical skills to develop key metrics and produce reports, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership. The Lead Supervisor will work closely with various stakeholders to enhance operational performance and customer service, driving improvements in safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the 24/7 team of Supervisors and dispatchers to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Develop and deliver standardized end-to-end processes to support future business operations.
  • Analyze, design, and deliver new business processes related to Work and Resource Management.
  • Coordinate gas emergency response with Field Operations, emergency response personnel, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate notifications in compliance with regulations and company procedures.
  • Support the continual development of the union workforce through coaching and performance assessments.
  • Lead the Gas Leak reporting process and conduct daily leak reconciliations.
  • Develop, analyze, and assess operational KPIs such as Emergency Response and Customer Service Performance Rate.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree and/or 10+ years of experience in maintenance, customer service, asset management, and emergency response.
  • Significant experience managing resources and activities focused on operational performance and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in managing a team of bargaining unit/contract employees.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with regulation interpretation, data collection, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, Salesforce, Maximo, SAP, and Power BI.
