About the position

The Lead System Administrator/Network Engineer (SA/NE) is responsible for leading a team of system and cloud administrators, IT security engineers, and software engineers to deliver comprehensive network, workstation, and application support across an organization. This role involves overseeing the management and administration of IT infrastructure for an independent test center, managing teams that provide test tool development and automation services, and conducting end-to-end solution testing and system demonstrations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of system and cloud administrators, IT security engineers, and software engineers.
  • Oversee the management and administration of IT infrastructure for an independent test center.
  • Manage teams providing test tool development and automation services.
  • Conduct end-to-end solution testing and system demonstrations.
  • Perform installation, configuration, updates, and support of applications in the internal support environment.
  • Provide systems administration and network support to the mission environment and servers.
  • Calibrate monitors for evaluation workstations in compliance with applicable standards.
  • Manage and maintain Outlook mail groups and security groups.
  • Create and manage Active Directory distribution and security groups.
  • Provide file system management services including file management support and permissions control.
  • Provide SharePoint support and administration for file management.
  • Support establishment, accreditation, maintenance, and support of T&E prototyping, test, staging, and production environments across different domains.
  • Manage, maintain, and administer the test environment; create, track, and maintain user accounts for the test environment.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of a Top Secret clearance and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI and pass a polygraph within 30 days of employment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Management or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator/Network Engineer for development/integration programs/projects.
  • Experience administering Windows, UNIX, and Cloud-based systems.
  • Experience implementing and managing Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) instances across multiple domains.
  • Experience leading an agile, fast-paced engineering and development team.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience coordinating across offices, organizations, and contracts for system, network, and infrastructure access/changes.
  • Experience with DevSecOps platforms, pipelines, processes, and support tools (e.g., Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Jenkins, Redmine).
  • Experience applying security policy, procedures, and technology including ICD 503 requirements, Cross Domain Devices, PKI, ABAC, SSL, and system hardening/certification testing.
  • Experience identifying root causes, impediments, and solutions.
  • Experience addressing system/application security vulnerabilities leading to Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Experience performing analysis of systems and recognizing interface impacts.
  • Comprehensive understanding of systems development lifecycle and enterprise systems architecture.

  • Experience transitioning bare metal capabilities to a cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or equivalent Cloud-based architecture.
