About the position

The IaaS Systems and Storage & Engineering (ISSE) team at Visa is seeking a highly skilled technical engineer to design and automate server infrastructure solutions. This role focuses on delivering high-quality infrastructure design while ensuring security and availability in complex operational environments. The ideal candidate will leverage extensive experience in virtualization technologies and Linux systems to drive business efficiency and security, while also mentoring junior team members and developing best practices.

Responsibilities

• Drive design and implementation of infrastructure solutions on virtualization technologies like OpenShift virtualization.
• Migrate VMs from VMware to OSV and manage production container ecosystems.
• Design and automate implementation of server infrastructure based on business requirements.
• Maintain high security and availability in complex operational environments.
• Mentor junior team members and develop ITIL procedures and best practices standards.
• Provide level 3 support and guide level 2 administrators on problem resolution.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 7 years of work experience with an Advanced degree, or 4 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Electrical or other relevant engineering field.
• 10 years of experience as a DevOps engineer automating infrastructure deployment.
• In-depth hands-on experience managing the lifecycle of Linux operating systems or hypervisors.
• Strong technical analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Virtualization.
• RHCE - Red Hat Certified Engineer with Ansible focus.
• Knowledge and experience on Infrastructure as Code (IAC) like Terraform.
• Experience in system monitoring with tools supporting unattended operations.
