About the position

The Lead RF Systems Engineer at L3Harris is responsible for leading a systems engineering team in the development, integration, and implementation of complex systems, particularly in the Space & Airborne Systems division. This role requires overseeing technical aspects of projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards, and collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions. The position emphasizes a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within an Agile framework, while also providing mentorship and technical leadership to engineering staff.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the systems engineering team in the development and integration of complex systems.
  • Oversee technical aspects of projects to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Implement and maintain robust requirements management processes.
  • Champion the use of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies.
  • Generate and maintain Concept of Operations (ConOps) documents.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment of system objectives and deliverables.
  • Support Integration and Test (I&T) events and coordinate critical demonstrations.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering staff.
  • Manage technical subcontractors to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team that is geographically dispersed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience, or 13 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Verilog and experience in RTL design of FPGA or ASIC.
  • Experience in wireless system design and protocols.
  • Experience in real-time embedded programming at the hardware layer interface.
  • Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Education, Science, Math, Computer Engineering, Technology.
  • Scientific programming and algorithm development.
  • RF system fundamentals and waveform processing.
  • Lead work planning using SAFe methodology.
  • Experience using Cameo and Doors.
  • Networking fundamentals.
  • RF Estimation and classification.
