About the position
The Lead Systems Engineer will serve as a technical lead responsible for guiding multiple high-performing teams in delivering scalable and efficient data products and platforms. This role emphasizes the importance of data engineering best practices and collaboration with various stakeholders to drive the implementation of innovative applications within the enterprise data ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, configuration, engineering, integration, and implementation of data platform components and services.
- Advise engineering teams across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions using full-stack development tools and technologies.
- Deliver data-driven solutions that are customer-focused and create sustained business value.
- Build and maintain optimized and highly available data pipelines for both real-time and batch data processing.
- Design and customize complex data models, search queries, and dashboards to promote data-driven solutions.
- Ensure compliance with methodology and process standards such as SDLC, Change Management, Agile Methodology, and IT Security policies.
- Analyze existing programs or formulate logic for new data products, prepare flowcharting, and perform coding and testing/debugging of programs.
Requirements
- Enterprise experience in data engineering and software development.
- Experience with Java Spring Boot and Avro registries.
- Proficiency in MongoDB and Confluent Kafka streaming.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Nice-to-haves
- Retail experience is a plus.
