About the position

The Lead Systems Technician (Videographer/Editor) is responsible for providing television production and post-production support to the Secretary of Energy and senior officials at DOE/HQ. This role involves operating a variety of production equipment and software, conducting technical research for new equipment recommendations, and collaborating with clients to enhance the editorial process.

Responsibilities

  • Provide television production and post-production support to DOE/HQ and designated senior officials.
  • Operate a wide array of television production and post-production equipment.
  • Utilize professional software for video production as directed by the Office of Administration.
  • Conduct technical research for recommending new equipment, software, and supplies related to television production.
  • Interface directly with DOE/HQ clients to gather input for the editorial process.

Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or 5 years of equivalent experience in broadcast and video production.
  • 5 years of experience in video production preferred, with 6-8 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Strong lighting and cinematography skills.
  • Excellent video editing skills.
  • Motion graphics skills to produce animations for video or standalone use.
  • Expert-level skill with Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro.
  • Demonstrated experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, PluralEyes, Quicktime Pro, ENG cameras, and Non-Linear Editing software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of traditional and digital film equipment and technology.
  • Understanding of video codecs, compression technology, and digital file optimization.
