About the position

The position is within the Taxpayer Services Division of the IRS, focusing on workload distribution, employee training, and performance monitoring. The role involves ensuring equitable work distribution, resolving complaints, and performing administrative duties in the absence of a manager. This is a full-time, permanent position with occasional travel requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Distributes, balances, monitors, and reports on workload according to established workflow or job specialization.
  • Assures equitable distribution of work among employees and timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Amends or rejects work not meeting established standards and refers issues to the supervisor.
  • Maintains current knowledge of procedures, policies, and directives; answers questions and provides training to employees.
  • Resolves simple informal complaints and reports on employee performance, progress, and training needs.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience at the GS-06 level in the Federal service or equivalent in the public or private sector.
  • Experience using business tax law, IRS collection techniques, and tax forms to advise taxpayers.
  • Ability to communicate specialized information clearly to internal and external customers.
  • Experience processing IMF Rejects and IMF RAW.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a supervisory role or managing a team.
  • Familiarity with IRS policies and procedures.
