About the position

The position is for a GS-08 level role within the IRS's Taxpayer Services Division, specifically in Return Integrity and Compliance Services. The role involves managing workload distribution, providing training and support to employees, and ensuring compliance with established performance standards. It requires a strong understanding of tax laws and the ability to resolve taxpayer inquiries effectively.

Responsibilities

• Distributes, balances, monitors, and reports on workload according to established workflow or job specialization.
• Ensures equitable distribution of work among employees and timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Amends or rejects work that does not meet established standards and refers issues to the supervisor.
• Maintains current knowledge of procedures, policies, and directives; answers questions and provides training to employees.
• Resolves simple informal complaints and reports on employee performance, progress, and training needs.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience at the GS-07 level in the Federal service, including experience with individual and/or business accounts and applying tax laws.
• Experience with online systems and tools to resolve taxpayer inquiries and issues.
• Must meet Time in Grade (TIG) requirements for eligibility.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a supervisory role or managing a team.
