About The Position

The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking motivated, cause-driven Early Learning Lead Teachers for the 2s and 3s classrooms. The role involves providing leadership and supervision in a preschool environment, ensuring the health, welfare, and safety of children while fostering their development across various domains.

Requirements

• High school degree or equivalent required; bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
• Related academic/enrichment experience and/or college courses necessary.
• Excellent relationship-building skills and oral and written communication skills.
• Computer and administrative proficiency required.
• Completion of Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care staff online prior to first shift with children.
• CPR & First Aid certification must be completed within the first 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a classroom of preschool age children.
• Develop and implement lesson plans, schedules, and routines.
• Ensure the health, welfare, and safety of children enrolled in the program.
• Create an environment that fosters social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative development of each child.
