About the position

The Lead Teacher for the Infant & Toddler Program at Bright Child Learning Center is responsible for developing and implementing a Montessori-based childcare program for young children. This role focuses on meeting the developmental needs of children through culturally appropriate activities and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate childcare program for young children in keeping with the Montessori philosophy.
• Plan and implement culturally appropriate activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the children in the program.
• Provide various experiences and activities for children including presenting materials, songs, games and story-telling in keeping with the Montessori teaching philosophy.
• Establish routines and provide positive guidance.
• Clearly and effectively communicate in a respectful manner that children understand.
• Observe children and make notes of developmental progress, include photos and samples of work.
• Routinely provide verbal and written updates to parents on their child's development.
• Provide a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable and ensure children are supervised within sight AND sound at all times.

Requirements

• Associates degree in Education or Bachelors degree in a related field.
• Wisconsin Registry Career Level 12 or higher.
• Successfully pass pre-employment background check, physical and TB test.
• Experience: minimum of 2 years leading a classroom.
