About the position

The Distribution Lead - Training at Southwire Company, LLC is responsible for coordinating training activities for new hires and providing hands-on support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations on the production floor. This role serves as the main interface between operators and management, driving company metrics and production goals while promoting a culture of safety and quality. The lead will also assist in troubleshooting process issues and support cost reduction initiatives within the distribution area.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate training activities for new hires and provide progress feedback to supervisors.
• Provide hands-on assistance in troubleshooting and eliminating process issues.
• Support day-to-day operations with hands-on assistance.
• Assist in cost reduction efforts related to manufacturing methods and dimensional control.
• Promote a culture of safety by monitoring safety rules and responding to employee safety concerns.
• Support quality management by performing and documenting required quality checks.
• Drive overall performance in the distribution area to ensure scheduled warehouse activities are met.
• Ensure equipment is set up safely and maintained in a clean condition.
• Monitor employee attendance and provide support for break times.
• Motivate and develop team members to maximize productivity.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid forklift truck operator's license is required.
• Good work and attendance record is necessary.
• Basic PC skills including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are required.
• Ability to read, count accurately, and perform simple math operations is essential.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions explicitly.
• Familiarity with warehouse operating systems is required.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment is critical.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite is a plus.
• Experience with SAP/Lucas systems is beneficial.
