About The Position

The Distribution Lead at Southwire Company, LLC is responsible for overseeing the production floor operations, providing direction to hourly workers, and ensuring that safety, quality, and distribution management goals are met. This role involves close collaboration with shift supervisors to drive performance metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives within the facility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Good work and attendance record with no active final written discipline.
  • Valid forklift truck operator's license required.
  • Ability to read, count accurately, and perform simple math.
  • Basic PC skills including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.
  • Ability to learn and function in SAP/Lucas at a high level.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills within the organization.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing business environment.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operating systems.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exhibits good decision-making and analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong multitasking capabilities and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a Culture of Zero by monitoring safety rules and requirements.
  • Respond to employee safety concerns in a timely manner.
  • Communicate safety violations and hazards to management.
  • Create Maintenance Work Orders for safety hazards.
  • Assist in developing safe work procedures and job hazard analyses.
  • Participate in safety initiatives and facilitate participation for direct reports.
  • Support Site/Corporate Quality and Scrap Reduction goals.
  • Perform and document required Quality Checks as outlined by process documents.
  • Complete and report Shift Lead Summary documents to Supervisor.
  • Drive overall performance to ensure warehouse activities occur as scheduled.
  • Ensure equipment is set up safely and maintained in a clean condition.
  • Promote processes and standards within the assigned area.
  • Maintain liaison with other Lead Operators and Management to minimize downtime.
  • Motivate and develop team members to maximize productive work.
  • Provide coaching and support for employees in training.
  • Assist with cost reduction activities and participate in Lean activities.
