About the position

The Lead Tech / Crew Chief at ServiceMaster Restore is responsible for overseeing restoration jobs, ensuring that tasks are completed according to company standards and safety protocols. This role involves direct interaction with customers, explaining processes, and supervising technicians to maintain quality control during restoration activities. The Lead Tech also prepares documentation and communicates with insurance adjusters to facilitate job completion and reimbursement.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and inspects tasks for restoration jobs to ensure completion of drying, demolition, and various restoration activities.
• Prepares and reviews documentation including notes, photos, and documents according to company policies and procedures.
• Explains processes used to complete active jobs and next steps to resolution in person to customers.
• Supervises technician(s) assigned to the job ensuring safety and operational standards are being followed during active jobs.
• Retrieves work orders and ensures appropriate equipment and supplies are loaded on the truck needed for the job.
• Completes assigned jobs according to company processes and carrier standards, maintaining quality control.
• Performs daily monitoring and required activities on all active jobs with a sense of urgency.
• Interfaces with adjusters to resolve issues and answer questions about the loss.
• Completes sketch and scope sheet for estimates and drying records using mobile software.
• Inspects jobs after completion and obtains customer signatures for approval purposes.
• Resolves issues with customers and communicates customer issues and daily job activities with key company staff.
• May train new technicians or key operational team members.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• 3 years of experience in the disaster restoration or construction industry.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
• Experience with entering data using a tablet or mobile phone.
• Knowledge of disaster restoration industry.
• Experience with using Xactimate is preferred but not required.

Nice-to-haves

• Certifications such as ASD, FSRT, OCT, or WRT are preferred but not required.
• Experience in training and managing others.
