About the position

Metric5 is seeking a motivated Lead Technical Engineer to join our passionate team. This role combines leadership and hands-on development responsibilities, focusing on creating modern software solutions in an Agile environment. The Lead Technical Engineer will oversee technical architecture, design, development, and documentation while working closely with customers and leading test engineers throughout the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical architecture, design, development, and documentation of software solutions.
• Work hands-on with Angular, Java, Spring Boot, and other frameworks for web development.
• Interface directly with customers to gather requirements and provide updates.
• Lead test engineers and other team members throughout all stages of the development lifecycle.
• Implement application enhancements based on customer feedback and project needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development.
• 6+ years of experience with Agile development methodologies, preferably SAFe or Scrum.
• 6+ years of experience developing applications for enterprise business customers.
• 2+ years of experience with automated build tools, continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
• 2+ years of experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with relational databases like Postgres and Oracle.
• Good oral and written communication skills, with experience in delivering presentations to customers.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with JIRA or Redmine Agile Lifecycle Management software.
• Experience with development and deployment in cloud environments.
• SAFe certification.
• Experience with fielded systems and mission/system operations.
