About the position

The Lead, Technical Product Management role at S&P Global is a pivotal position within the Enterprise Solutions business, which provides a comprehensive suite of software, data, and services to clients in the financial sector. This role is part of the Foundational Services product team, responsible for designing and delivering essential foundational services that support the company's software solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with technology teams to ensure that product development aligns with both business and technical requirements, thereby enhancing the overall product offering. In this role, you will engage with customers, field organizations, and other product managers to gather product requirements and feedback. You will lead the collaboration with engineering teams, ensuring that the development process is in sync with the defined product roadmap and backlog. Your responsibilities will include creating use cases, writing well-defined user stories, and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of technical features. Working in an agile environment, you will utilize tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Azure DevOps to manage product development effectively. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain deep industry knowledge within a rapidly growing global financial technology organization, as you will coordinate with multiple teams and programs looking to integrate with Foundational Services products. You will also build expertise on S&P Global's technology stack and the nuances of investment workflows across various financial markets, including public and private sectors, as well as areas like Energy and Sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with technology teams to design and deliver foundational services critical to powering solutions.
  • Work with customers and field organizations to capture product requirements and feedback.
  • Lead collaboration with engineering teams to ensure product development aligns with business and technical requirements.
  • Define new product feature qualification criteria and prioritize the product roadmap and backlog.
  • Create use cases, requirements, and write well-defined user stories for product development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of technical features.
  • Utilize agile tools and platforms (JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps) to manage product development.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in technical product management or a related role alongside engineering teams.
  • Experience defining and delivering product capabilities for a SaaS product.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with strong verbal, written, and presentation abilities.
  • Proven experience leading project teams with competing priorities and deadlines, including virtual teams across different geographic regions.
  • Ability to contribute to an innovative, high productivity, and high-quality environment.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • High attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a B2B SaaS environment.
