About the position

As a Lead Technical Program Manager in Consumer & Community Banking within Consumer Card Technology, you will leverage your deep technical expertise and leadership to guide cutting-edge projects, fostering growth and innovation in a dynamic environment. Your role will be pivotal in driving the successful delivery of complex technology projects and programs that align with the business goals across the firm. You will utilize your extensive knowledge of technical principles, practices, and theories to develop innovative solutions while effectively managing resources, budgets, and high-performing teams. Your strong analytical reasoning and adaptability skills will be essential in navigating through ambiguity and change, ensuring that technology initiatives are in sync with business objectives. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive project plans that incorporate technical requirements, resource allocation, and timelines to ensure the on-time delivery of technology solutions. You will lead the end-to-end management of the tech modernization program, which includes planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery. Identifying and mitigating risks will be a key part of your responsibilities, as you proactively address potential roadblocks and implement contingency plans to maintain project and program momentum. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and business stakeholders, will be crucial to define program scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with overall business goals. Your role will also involve utilizing advanced analytical reasoning to assess program performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement data-driven optimizations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. You will champion the adoption of agile methodologies and technical solutions, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team. As a subject matter expert, you will contribute to the development of operational plans and risk management strategies, ensuring the highest quality and professionalism in service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, incorporating technical requirements, resource allocation, and timelines to ensure on-time delivery of technology solutions

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in technical program management, leading complex technology projects and programs in a large organization
  • Proven experience as a Technical Program Manager or similar role, with a focus on technology modernization projects
  • Strong technical background with a deep understanding of modern technologies, cloud computing, and IT infrastructure
  • Advanced expertise in stakeholder management, with the ability to establish productive working relationships and influence decision-making across cross-functional teams and clients
  • Excellent project management skills, including experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Advanced experience in utilizing technical fluency, including knowledge of vendor products and managing vendor relations, to enable on-demand access to shared pools of applications and services
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
  • Proven track record of effectively managing resources, budgets, and high-performing teams in a fast-paced, agile environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in applying analytical reasoning and problem-solving techniques to break down business, technical, or operational objectives into manageable tasks and activities

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred
  • Experience with leading a Cloud migration program/project
  • Background in AWS certification
  • PMP, PgMP, or similar certification is a plus
