About the position

The Lead Technical Program Manager at Mastercard is responsible for driving multiple technical projects within the Mastercard Digital Enablement Service (MDES) team. This role involves managing the execution of features and projects across various teams, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining alignment with organizational objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on customer experience, possess an entrepreneurial mindset, and be adept at navigating complex technical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, rationalize, and drive multiple simultaneous projects to deliver engineering work across the portfolio.
  • Organize and accelerate delivery by ensuring all teams are coordinated, identifying and removing blockers.
  • Act as the first point of contact for the team, providing accurate project status and data to stakeholders.
  • Regularly review metrics and seek improved data mechanisms for visibility.
  • Manage all dependencies to ensure outputs are production-ready at launch.
  • Identify risks and issues, ensuring mitigation efforts are carried out throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Stay updated on the evolving technology landscape and evaluate design strengths and weaknesses.
  • Work with ambiguity and limited guidance to initiate project momentum.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to operate with independence and autonomy.
  • Experience defining and building cloud-native software products at scale.
  • Experience in agile delivery models (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
  • Proven track record of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with executives, peers, and staff.
  • Experience building relationships and influencing dependent teams.
  • Expertise in Payments, IaaS, PaaS, serverless technology, CI/CD, NoSQL databases, microservices APIs, and distributed systems operations.

Nice-to-haves

  • BS in engineering, computer science, or related discipline.
  • Technical program delivery experience including software development and testing.
