About the position

The Lead Technical Writer - Senior Clinical Quality Analyst at Wolters Kluwer is responsible for representing the Clinical Solutions division in a professional and customer-focused manner. This role involves applying clinical expertise to improve clinical content, conducting clinical data analysis, and ensuring quality control of proprietary drug content and clinical decision support software. The position requires collaboration with various teams, providing customer support, and maintaining strong professional relationships to enhance product development and content accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Represent WKH-Clinical Solutions positively and professionally.
  • Apply clinical experience to evaluate and interpret scientific literature.
  • Maintain subject matter expertise through continuous learning and review of relevant literature.
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with drug therapy and clinical decision support.
  • Perform ongoing clinical data analysis and quality control activities.
  • Identify and report omissions or errors in clinical data.
  • Submit work for peer review and respond to feedback.
  • Anticipate problems and identify creative solutions.
  • Develop and implement policies based on clinical knowledge.
  • Achieve productivity by meeting deadlines and departmental goals.
  • Share expertise with colleagues across the organization.
  • Act as an influential leader and assist in cross-education among teams.
  • Participate in new product development and provide clinical input for product design.
  • Provide high-level customer service and support for clinical content issues.
  • Collaborate in the development of testing scenarios during the product cycle.
  • May assist in training pharmacy students and residents.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with authors and consultants.

Requirements

  • PharmD or BSPharm with significant clinical practice experience or specialization, or other advanced clinical degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical practice experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the implementation and/or analysis of Clinical Decision Support data and applications or clinical informatics.
  • Pharmacy License in good standing from any U.S. State (for pharmacists).
  • Extensive knowledge of clinical/content area of responsibility.
  • Advanced literature evaluation skills and/or advanced data analytic and clinical decision support skills (preferred).
  • Strong critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literacy in word processing and spreadsheet use (required).
  • Experience and proficiency with SQL (preferred).
  • Familiarity with ontologies and standardized vocabularies such as RxNorm, SNOMED CT, ICD10, LOINC.

Nice-to-haves

  • Pharmacy practice or clinical residency and/or board certification in pharmacotherapy or a specific sub-specialty (preferred).
  • Certification or fellowship in clinical informatics, or prior experience collaborating with informatics teams.
  • Experience with leading or collaborating on quality-focused standards, best practices, processes, and policies (preferred).
  • Familiarity with CDS Hooks, SMART and FHIR standards (preferred).
