About the position

The Clinical Solutions role at Wolters Kluwer Health (WKH) is designed for a pharmacist with extensive clinical experience to enhance clinical content and support clinical decision-making processes. Responsibilities

  • Represent WKH-Clinical Solutions positively and professionally.
  • Evaluate and interpret scientific literature and other evidence using clinical experience.
  • Maintain subject matter expertise through ongoing review of medical and healthcare information technology literature.
  • Develop and maintain clinical expertise to improve clinical content.
  • Perform ongoing clinical data analysis and quality control related to proprietary drug content and clinical decision support software.
  • Identify and report omissions or errors in data and unexpected results from clinical decision support software.
  • Collaborate with peers for review and improvement of clarity, consistency, and accuracy of information.
  • Anticipate problems and identify creative solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Develop and implement policies based on clinical knowledge and expertise.
  • Achieve productivity by meeting departmental and individual goals.
  • Maintain current knowledge in clinical expertise and industry trends through various activities.
  • Cultivate professional relationships and share expertise with colleagues.
  • Assist in new product development and enhancements from a clinical perspective.
  • Provide customer support and respond to inquiries regarding clinical content issues.

Requirements

  • PharmD or BSPharm with significant clinical practice experience or other advanced clinical degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical practice experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the implementation and/or analysis of Clinical Decision Support data and applications or clinical informatics.
  • Pharmacy License in good standing from any U.S. State (for pharmacists).
  • Extensive knowledge of clinical/content area of responsibility.
  • Advanced literature evaluation skills and/or advanced data analytic and clinical decision support skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Pharmacy practice or clinical residency and/or board certification in pharmacotherapy or a specific sub-specialty.
  • Experience and proficiency with SQL.
  • Experience with ontologies and standardized vocabularies such as RxNorm, SNOMED CT, ICD10, LOINC.
  • Certification or fellowship in clinical informatics.
  • Familiarity with CDS Hooks, SMART and FHIR standards.
