Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Technical Writer to join our team in the DMV area. As a Lead Technical Writer, you will provide writing and editing services and contribute to producing and editing the Innovation Recommendation Reports as they relate to performance improvements in systems, operations, and processes. You will be responsible for rewriting content or performing developmental editing to ensure it passes our information quality checks before review, signature, coordination, and publication. Additionally, you will assist engineers and analysts by advising on content outline and structuring, reviewing new performance improvement content for editing accuracy and formatting, and supporting other acquisitions at the project level. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design, write, revise, and/or edit technical documentation, including interim whitepapers, plans, outlines, speeches, or presentations. You will also assist with the management of updates, version control, and revisions to the technical literature repository. This position reports to the TDL Generation Manager and includes supervising and mentoring subordinate project staff.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum of nine (9) years of relevant experience.
  • Four (4) years of additional experience is required with a High School diploma; two (2) years of additional experience is required with an Associate's degree.
  • A Master's degree may be considered in lieu of two (2) years of experience; a Ph.D. can be considered in lieu of four (4) years of experience.
  • Five (5) years of position-specific experience.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

  • Adobe Certified Expert-FrameMaker certifications.
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM or related discipline.
  • Master's degree in Writing, Communication, or STEM.
